Wingate University Metro College Presents the New Public Safety Administration Concentration

An Accelerated Adult Degree Completion Program designed to meet
the executive development requirements for:

• Law Enforcement
• Fire Service
• Emergency Medical Services
• Emergency Planning and Operations

The Post 9/11 environment requires a greater integration of the various emergency response agencies. No longer can the various emergency response agencies perform in a vacuum. Wingate University Metro College’s Public Safety Administration concentration addresses these needs individually and collectively by creating a synergistic adult learning environment affording the student participant to acquire the broad global perspective.

Students holding 40 or more credits or an Associates Degree attend class two nights a week in our location in downtown Matthews, completing 12 credit hours per semester. Most students complete the degree in about two years.

Federally insured financial aid is available and agencies participating in employee tuition reimbursement are welcome.

The PSA Concentration Courses Include:

• Cultural Diversity
• Speech Communications
• Human Resource Management
• Understanding and Dealing with Violence
• Computer-based Information Management
• Racial and Ethnic Group Relations

Current and future public safety executives will learn how to
manage and lead people, make sound decisions, communicate
more effectively with those they supervise and serve, and formulate
and implement effective strategic plans.

Courses are broad in theory yet immediately applicable to real world
situations.

Students holding 40 or more transferable courses or an Associate Degree from an accredited institution qualify to apply for admission into the Public Safety program.  Transfer credits are determined by evaluating courses based on their descriptions and are subject to institutional policies.
