PRAXIS PREP - DECEMBER 4, 2007

Dr. Phyllis Tallent, Assistant Superintendent for Support Services in Lincoln County

will lead our first preparation session for the School Leaders Licensure Assessment.  Dr. Tallent has been strongly recommended by students from other universities who have participated in her workshops. She will use a power point to supplement her comments and she urges participants to be prepared to take notes.

ADVISORY MEETINGS

Every Ed Leadership/Add On Licensure student must set up an advisory appointment before the end of the Fall semester.  Please call Linda Morris 704-321-1470 or e-mail lmorris@wingate.edu to schedule an advisory appointment.

MAT TEST INFORMATION   

The MAT will be administered in the Bridges Building Computer Lab at Wingate University in Wingate, N.C. on the last Wednesday of every month at 2:00p.m. (except in April) during the Spring 2008.  Dates for the spring will be:

                    January 30

                    February 27

                    March 26

                    April 23

                    May 28

On April 23, the time will be 4:00p.m. instead of 2:00p.m.  The cost is $65, which is due on the date of the test (cash or check only).  To receive a booklet containing test information and to register, call Thayer School of Education at 704-233-8127 or 704-233-8075.

JOB OPENING

Wingate Elementary School has a current job opening in their after-school program.  Hours are 2:00-5:00p.m. Monday through Friday.  They need one person, possibly two.  Rate of pay is $10.00 an hour or $15.00 an hour with a bachelor's degree.  If interested, please contact DeShawn Graves at 704-233-4045 or DeShaw.Graves@ucps.k12.nc.us.

INTERNS - The internship handbook has been revised with 2008 ISSLC Standards.  The revised handbook should be available on line by next week.  Please download the new version to make sure you are working with the 2008 ISSLC Standards.  If you have any questions, please email Linda Morris at lmorris@wingate.edu.

ALL STUDENTS - Summer Session II will begin July 7, 2008.  We will be working on the fall 2008 schedule within the next couple of weeks.  As soon as the schedule is complete, we will post it on line and prepare registration forms and have them available on line as well.

Anyone who is NOT attending summer classes will be responsible for going on line to check the fall schedule and download the necessary registration forms.  Forms should be mailed or faxed to the Matthews Campus.  Mailing address is P.O. Box 3549, Matthews NC 28106, Fax number is 704-849-2468.

Students in the MASA, MAPE, MAT, and MAED programs should meet with their advisor before selecting fall classes.  All new Educational Leadership and Add On Licensure students should be scheduling their first advisory.  Educational Leadership and Add On Licensure students can contact Linda Morris at 704-321-1470 or via email at lmorris@wingate.edu to schedule advisories.

TUITION PAYMENTS - Tuition payments should be mailed to the main campus.  Please DO NOT mail tuition payments to the Matthews Campus.  Tuition payments should be mailed to Wingate University, Campus Box 3063, P.O. Box 159, Wingate, NC 28174
